Forschungen zu Sprachen und Kulturen Afrikas

In dieser Reihe sollen Kulturen afrikanischer Völker durch Zeugnisse ihrer Sprachen wissenschaftlich dargestellt werden. Vereint und nicht getrennt werden daher die Linguistik und Ethnographie der Völker Afrikas in den "Forschungen zu Sprachen und Kulturen Afrikas" zu Wort kommen. Die Reihe soll vor allem der Veröffentlichung von mündlichen Überlieferungen afrikanischer Völker dienen - ihrer "oral history" ebenso wie ihren Erzählungen, Märchen, Sagen, Sprichwörtern und anderen Texten in afrikanischen Sprachen mit kommentierten Übersetzungen. Grundlage hierfür sind Wörterbücher, sofern sie über den lexikalischen Bestand der afrikanischen Sprachen hinaus auch die Kulturen der betreffenden Völker dokumentieren. Etwas vom Reichtum der Geisteswelt Afrikas soll mit den "Forschungen zu Sprachen und Kulturen Afrikas" sichtbar gemacht und festgehalten werden. In this scholarly series the cultures of African societies are to be portrayed through testimonies to their languages. Thus, in "Researches on African Languages and Cultures", the linguistics and ethnography of the societies of Africa are to receive not a separate but a common forum. Above all, this series is to serve the publication of the oral tradition of African societies: their oral history as well as their stories, tales, legends, proverbs and other texts, in African languages with annotated translations. A basis for this will be provided by dictionaries which, beyond their lexical content, also document the cultures of the societies concerned. "Researches on African Languages and Cultures" endeavour to capture and present some of the richness of Africa's spiritual world. Cette série se propose d'établir une présentation scientifique des civilisations de peuples africains par des témoignages rédigés dans leurs propres langues. C'est donc ensemble que la linguistique et l'ethnographie des peuples d'Afrique prendront la parole dans "Recherches sur les langues et les cultures africaines". La série doit, en premier lieu, permettre la publication des traditions orales populaires, - la "oral history" - ainsi que des récits, contes, légendes, proverbes et d'autres textes de langues africaines accompagnés de traductions commentées. La base en seront des dictionnaires, dans la mesure où, au-delà du contenu lexical des langues africaines, ils documentent également les civilisations des peuples concernés. "Recherches sur les langues et les cultures africaines" a pour but de manifester et de documenter, pour une part, la richesse du monde spirituel africain.
